Who is Virgil Goode?
What party is a member of?
Could he influence the outcome of the election? How?
Who wants him off the ballot? Who will decide if he stays on the ballot?
Student's Response....
Virgil Goode was a Democrat, then a Independent, then a
Republican member of the United States House of Representatives from 1997 to
2008. Goode is now a member of the Constitution party. Goode can influence the
election by taking some of the conservative voters in Virginia (which is a
battleground state) that could go to Mitt Romney. The Republican party wants
Goode of the ballot and are challenging his eligibility, alleging petition
fraud. Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli II has the power to take Goode of the
Virginia ballot.
